The polychrome chinaware was introduced into Thailand during Ayutthaya time when the capital of Thailand was Ayutthaya. It was restricted for the royal court members and noble people only. Later, it was sold among the general public. Making the polychrome chinaware is the high-level art passed down from generations to generations. Benjarong Group is preserving and developing new patterns. The group also tailors patterns and colors to the customers’ need.
Manufacturing procedures
1. Prepare and wash a ceramic.
2. Draft the pattern outline with liquid gold. Then, paint the colors.
3. Paint gold in the remaining areas. Bake the ceramic.
